Classic WPC cladding is made from wood fiber mixed with HDPE plastic and additives. It is a traditional wood-plastic composite board used for exterior wall facades, garden walls and decorative feature walls. It offers a wood look without the drawbacks of natural timber.
Standard classic WPC will have slight colour fading in the first 3–6 months (weathering stage). With UV stabilisers added, the colour will then stay stable for many years. For better anti-fade performance, choose co-extruded WPC cladding.
Yes. Classic WPC is water-resistant. It will not absorb moisture, rot, swell or warp. It also resists mould, mildew and salt air in seaside locations.
No. Unlike natural wood, classic WPC requires no painting, staining or oiling. You only need to clean it with water and mild detergent when it gets dirty.
No. Plastic content prevents insect damage. Termites and ants cannot destroy WPC boards.
It has small thermal expansion. We recommend leaving expansion gaps between panels during installation to avoid bending or buckling in hot weather.
Absolutely. You can cut it using standard wood saws, drills and cutting machines just like timber.
Classic WPC has colour all the way through the board. Co-extruded WPC has a thick outer protective shell, better UV resistance, anti-stain performance and longer life, but costs more.
Standard classic WPC is combustible. If you need exterior wall fire safety, select the fire-rated Class B / Class C fire retardant WPC cladding to meet building code requirements.
It needs an air cavity behind the boards. You must first install wooden or aluminium battens to allow ventilation and prevent moisture buildup.
